Solstice means the sun stands still (sol - the sun, sistire- to stand still). Twice a year the Sun appears to stand still on the horizon for approximately three days.

Find your Place

I sat and looked helplessly at the screen. This platform had so many exciting features, but for me and my ADHD brain, it was just too much. I had joined this wonderful, shiny business group a couple of years earlier and I was desperate to achieve what they promised I could achieve, but I did not feel comfortable, or even able speak their language really. Also, everything was pink.

The Perfection of Imperfection

Inbetween Christmas and New Year I had the huge pleasure of gifting myself a morning of “Forest Bathing and Writing” in the woods with the brilliant Jeanine of Nature Connect NW. ( highly recommend!) After some very special time observing all the splendour of nature around us, being greeted by a buzzard swooping overhead, some […]

The Goddess Sleeps part 2

Once upon a time….. Long ago, But also, right now…. Once upon a time….. Long ago, But also, right now…. Demeter has toiled long and hard all the warmer months. The grain is in, the fruit are ripe, the larder is full. The slaughter and hunt is not her territory – let the human’s play […]

A Love Letter to my Daughters

A love letter to my daughters   There’s a pain in my chest that’s stopping me breathing   The winds raged, the rain lashed, and the thunder roared. So did I, until I was quiet and still and the only voice I could hear was her father’s. My eldest was born with nature screaming her […]

Autumn Equinox

Autumn equinox is on 23rd of September this year, at 2.04am BST. It is a scientific point when the Sun is directly above the Earth’s equator, meaning that the day and night are of almost equal length. The name equinox combines the Latin words for Equal (aequus) and Night (nox). It is one of the […]

10 Years Old!!!

This year sees HedgeRose Healing hitting the colossal milestone of being 10 years old!  I started my business at the Winter Solstice 2012, pushed into action by the apparent Cosmic Shift that was occurring that day. It had been on my mind for a while, so what better day than that? This year our 10th […]

A Goddess Sleeps

Once upon a time….. Long ago, But also, right now….   The Goddess of grain and abundance is sleeping. We can feel her stirring in her sleep, each turn of her body pushing up shoots, each sigh creating the springtime wing winds and breezes, the palpable change in the energy all around us. Her dreaming […]

Wednesday Workshops – what the devil ARE they?

Our Wednesday workshops have been running for well over a year now, but I still don’t seem to be conveying what they involve. I think its probably because they are really my baby, and I don’t really have much to compare them to. I thought I would write a post to see if a boring […]

Meditation with the Moon

Tonight is my final meditation, save the Samhain workshop, with the Moon at Norton priory. When I say The Moon, I am talking about Luke Jeram’s Museum of the Moon. A beautiful illuminated art installation that uses photographs from Nasa to recreate a stunning replica of our celestial best friend. I have felt it an […]
