This year sees HedgeRose Healing hitting the colossal milestone of being 10 years old! I started my business at the Winter Solstice 2012, pushed into action by the apparent Cosmic Shift that was occurring that day. It had been on my mind for a while, so what better day than that? This year our 10th Winter Solstice will be spent Circle Dancing at Norton Priory, and I could not be happier. What a wonderful way to celebrate – doing one of my favourite things in one of my favourite places, celebrating such an auspicious evening.
I thought this then could be a time to share the history of HedgeRose. As I have already said I have started my business in December 2012. At first I kept it small as I was home educating my two daughters. Now the youngest is off to University and so it is time to dedicate more energy to my wonderful venture.
I became attuned at the level of Master Teacher of Shamballa MultiDimensional Healing in 2011 and have enjoyed giving healing to many many wonderful people. It never ceases to amaze me the results in can bring for folks – Spirit knowing exactly what the client needs and me being simply a conduit for the energy. It is always such a privilege to work with. I also teach and attune people into this energetic family, and it is always great to feel the family grow.
I also trained in 2012 to be a meditation teacher, really feeling that this was the key to any Spiritual journey, and also such a simple way to build resilience and calm to deal with the stressful world we live in. I have always been passionate in teaching many methods, feeling strongly that a one-size-fits-all approach could leave people behind or excluded. Not all people are the same, and not all experiences are the same, and life does not always present the same energy day by day. Now I have been diagnosed as having ADHD, it has become clearer to me as to why I have this approach as my neurodivergence has made me acutely aware of the different way people learn, and the deep value of meditation as part of someone’s life. I want to make it more accessible, and help people find their own particular ways to engage in a regular practice.
The weekly evening meditation group at HedgeRose is therefore also 10 years old, and simply moved online during the pandemic. I am proud to say that we did not miss one week, and it became a supportive place for all the attendees – including myself.
I am very proud of my group and all I have created and learnt along the way. I have met really wonderful people and enjoyed every single meeting. I have co hosted retreats with Tabitha from Yoga in Cheshire, which has also been an adventure that I have enjoyed every minute of. I have run lovely mindfulness retreats with Rachel Milsted. Thea Faye and I have looked after the Sacred Space at the home educators’ family camp that we used to attend together, which has given me a great knowledge of teaching all ages and levels, and making Spirituality accessible for families. It was here that I mowed my first labyrinth , having trained at an intensive at The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts in 2016. Thea and I brought out a book in 2020, Magic of the Elements.
The incredible surroundings of that camp, Welsh Ancient Woodland and rolling hills, have inspired me to bring together knowledge in a way that I now present in our Wednesday Workshops. In my view there is nothing more Sacred than a leaf, and more connecting than a Full Moon. Stories reach into our soul, and meditation eases the stresses that can block nature’s ability to reach us. They have been running since September 2020, and they are such a pleasure.
Meditation has now expanded further from the HedgeRose Healing Room and I now lead regular groups at Norton Priory and on behalf of MindHalton. I have uploaded many older recordings of meditations onto YouTube and you can also find the guided meditations that I worked on collaboratively with Paul Landry, the incredible musical master at New Age Music Garden and the Guided Meditation Channel.
Alongside this other work has been my art. I have been lucky enough to be a studio holder at HazleHurst Studios in Runcorn for many years now, painting Goddess Hekate, and mandalas and running workshops, sharing space with the ever inspiring Claire of CRPitt Designs. I am now pleased to announce that all my artwork, makes and workshops are coming under the new heading of Mima Cornish Makes, with a new website on the way.
In 2016, I decided that I wanted to go deeper with my studies. I had been working with my Spirit Guide and Oracle Cards to give readings to folks, and I gradually realised that, at the very least, basic counselling training would be essential to make sure both the client and I were looked after. I continued working on the psychic line part time, while I went to evening class to train to be a counsellor. Having done the basic I realised this was something that I wanted to do in more depth. I embarked on the training at Riverside College in Widnes, and graduated at degree level from Staffordshire University. I have now opened my own private practice in Integrative Counselling. It is a job that I am eternally humbled by, and that I love. It keeps me on my toes and always changing. I am very proud of my own personal growth, and incredibly proud of my clients and the work they do.
New for 2022 is Spiritual Life Coaching. I realise that I miss the more Spiritual side of my work. Having worked doing readings for 10 years and then on the Psychic Line for 3 years, having done over 5,000 readings, (with a rating of 4.9 out of 5!)I learnt a lot about folks and their Spiritual Journeys. Many don’t feel that they are Spiritual “enough”, or that they can be in charge of their own Spirituality. They feel that other people are the Spiritual ones, and that they need to be told what to do. I aim to coach people and guide them to their own Spiritual answers, help them to get past all that toxic positivity and Spiritual bypassing, and able to understand exactly what is right for them and how it can make truly positive changes in their lives.
If you have read this far then I would like to thank you! I am very proud of the work I have done, and the way my business has grown and changed. A new phase is ahead for me and mine, and I am really excited to see what happens next. If you have been part of the last 10 years then I want to express a huge amount of gratitude to you, every one of you. You have made me and HedgeRose who we are today. I hope to see you soon, and maybe even share a dance with you on Solstice eve
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You
